Liner notes
A reflective folk ballad about Clayton, Iowa, a historic village nestled deep in a Mississippi River valley. The lyrics tell the story of the old flour shipping days and the devastating 1901 fire that swept through the lower town. It paints a picture of high bluffs watching over the quiet riverfront and the enduring spirit of the locals.
